Walter Iuzzolino, who is deputy head of features for channel 4, conceived the idea of Country House Rescue. I am not sure that anyone other than a foreign-born anglophile would be quite so interested in the beauty, history and difficulty of maintaining this country's finest houses and estates. The series is shot in HD and has incredibly high production values, as anyone watching it can immediately see. The photography is beautiful and the style far more benign than most programmes nowadays.
The first series went out in 2008 and the second in early 2010. A third series is currently being filmed for tx in 2011.
